The Park has been closed due to Hurricane Earl. We will re-open on Saturday, September 4 at 11 a.m. The Art Gallery reception has also been cancelled for the evening of September 3. The show will be available for viewing On Tuesday, September 7.
Responsibility: To provide oversight and to recommend policies to the Commission: with respect to the operation of the Elizabeth II State Historic Site and Visitor Site and the Elizabeth II as permanent memorials commemorating the Roanoke Voyages 1584-1587; for legislative and administrative action that might be in turn be recommended by the Commission to the General Assembly with respect to promotion and development of the Elizabeth II State Historic Site and Visitor Center; to insure that educational programming, interactive history exhibition space, settlement site, Indian village, and films are of the highest quality; to enhance and manage educational programming associated with Marshes Light, the George Washington Creef Boathouse, sailing programs and other matters involving the use of the waterfront and maritime history.
