Antique and new quilts will be on display through March 24. The collection is drawn from quilt makers or quilt owners attached to the Eastern, NC region. The show and reception are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Sponsored by the Teacup Quilters, the exhibition features full-sized and mini quilts. Past shows have seen 80 or more examples of quilts ranging in date from the 19th to the 21st century. Traditional patterns are used on many quilts. Viewers witness deft design and color choices, quilting, embroidery and appliqué skills. Quilts also can sport themes such as nature and history.

From warming children in cradles to soldiers on the battlefront, quilts have played a major role in the heritage of people. Each quilt on display will have accompanying information to further the viewer’s knowledge and experience regarding the art workl.
Each year the Teacup Quilters handcrafts a quilt to raffle at the end of the exhibition. Tickets are sold at the show and are $1 each or $5 for six.
The month-long gala features Vender Day, March 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Quilt enthusiasts come to buy supplies, including fabric, from regional venders. The public also has the opportunity to chat with Teacup Quilters as they gallery-sit Monday through Saturday.
