Roanoke Island Festival Park is excited to welcome guests back for our 2025 season!

Roanoke Island Festival Park is excited to be open again for the 2025 season! We have lots of great things in store for the upcoming year including new exhibits, new programs, and new events. We’re looking forward to hosting our return visitors, students, and first-time guests!

While visiting the park you have a variety of things to do and see. First make your way through the historical side of the park. Explore American Indian Town, board the Elizabeth II, and learn 16th-century trade skills at the Settlement Site. Be sure to spend some time in our Adventure Museum, where you can learn more about the early settlers, American Indians, the Lost Colony, the Outer Bank’s role in the Civil War, modern tourism, fishing, hunting, and more. We cover over 400 years of local history! After all that exploring, we encourage you to watch the 45-minute film, The Legend of Two Path, to discover the history of Chief Wanchese and Chief Manteo. Then do some shopping in our Museum Store!

New at the park this Spring is our seasonal program and traveling exhibit in our free gallery space behind ticket sales. Our Spring program, Elizabethan Medicine, dives into 16th century ailments and common treatments. Learn about a surgeon’s tool kit, grind herbs with a mortar and pestle, and play with our “diagnosis doors.” This program is happening on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm, starting on March 28th, and will run through May 31st. All programs are included with admission. Our current traveling exhibit is all about Queen Elizabeth the First. Elizabeth I, Ruler and Legend explores the history and myths surrounding the legendary figure. Opening during park hours, this exhibit is free to the public and does not require a paid ticket.

KidsFest and the Dare County Schools Art Exhibition are coming back in the Spring. This summer, we have our highly anticipated outdoor concert series with Live From OBX.
